Winston-Salem, NC (February 24, 2022) – One person was killed and others were hurt after a car accident in Winston-Salem. The crash happened around 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in the 5900 block of Robinhood Road near Glad Acres Road.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. According to troopers, a Honda sedan was traveling westbound on Robinhood when the driver crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound Dodge truck. A passenger in the Honda suffered critical injuries and died at the accident scene. The Honda driver was transported with serious injuries while the Dodge driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
None of those involved in the accident have been identified at this time. The road was closed for over two hours while an investigation was underway. Motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible and to find alternate routes of travel. It is not clear if any charges will be filed in connection with the accident.
