Winston-Salem, NC (June 9, 2021) – A woman from Winston-Salem was hurt in a two-car crash that took place on Sunday, June 6th. The accident was reported at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Stratford Road near Silas Creek Parkway.
Officer JD Huntley of the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to the accident scene. According to a report from Officer Huntley, a vehicle driven by Loretta Horne, of Winston-Salem, was traveling northbound on Stratford Road. As Horne approached the intersection with Silas Creek she had a red light in her direction of travel. Horne failed to stop for the traffic signal and tried to turn left onto Stratford. As she turned her car collided with a vehicle driven by Tiffany Fields, of Galax, VA. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the accident.
A passenger in Horne’s vehicle, Tanya Salley Johnson, sustained undisclosed injuries in the collision. She was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital where her condition was not immediately available. Officer Huntley charged Horne with running a red light. There were no other injuries reported.
