Winston-Salem, NC (May 29, 2021) – A woman who was struck by a vehicle last weekend in Winston-Salem has passed away from her injuries and has been identified by police. The collision happened on Saturday, May 22nd around 3:40 a.m. in the 1800 block of Ebert Road.
According to a report, 31-year-old Ariel Patrice Wester, of Greensboro was walking near the roadway when she was hit by a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Wayne Walser. Wester was rushed to a local hospital where she died from her injuries on Friday. Following an investigation, Walser was charged with driving while impaired. There were no other reported injuries as a result of the collision. Additional charges are pending against Walser following Wester’s death.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time. Police have not released any additional information. Anyone who has any details regarding the collision is asked to contact the Winston-Salem Police Department or Crimestoppers.
