Zebulon, NC (March 9, 2021) – Two Johnston County firefighters were hurt in a crash that took place on Monday, March 8th. The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. along North Carolina Highway 96 near North Carolina Highway 231.
According to officials, the fire crew was responding to assist on a call when the truck overturned following a crash. Two members of the crew were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. There is no word on whether any other vehicles were involved in the accident. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. There is no word on potential charges at this time. The crash caused the road to be closed until around 10:25 p.m. while officials investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
